I am married and retired. During my college days I worked part time for the U.S. Post office and was a DJ at Nevada's first successful FM radio station. I taught in junior high/middle school for the school district for 29 years and in Hamburg, Germany as a guest teacher for more than a semester in a Realschule. I started the first cinema studies class at the Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada after retiring from the school district.

I have an MA in German and now teach film classes for OLLI (part of the University of Nevada at Reno School of Medicine, geriatrics division).
