Member of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). My mother's father's family came to the colonies in the 1600s and 1700s. Her father's family was Irish and came to the U.S. in the 1830s/1840s. My dad's family was Finnish; he was a first-generation American. His parents came to the U.S. in 1902 and 1906.
