Bio

I was born in Burma, raised in Western New York, worked in Europe, and lived in Japan for 17 years. I have practiced law in NYC, LA, Tokyo and Osaka. For more information about me, please see my website link below.

Other than my ancestors's markers, I focused on Yokohama cemeteries, but now I'm not in Japan. I have been studying genealogy since the mid 1990s, when my great Uncle got me started with a trove of tin types, photos and documents, including scrawled, handwritten trees, from way back.

I have been using Ancestry.com since I started, and I am glad to share my tree with all who request. You are welcome to use any photo I post, unless you put any restriction on the photos you post. If so, apply your own restrictions to my photos. Thank you to all who have photographed markers and improved memorials for my ancestors.

As a rule, I say a brief nondenominational, non-theistic prayer at graves I photograph. My legal background has taught me excruciating precision and thoroughness. Also, I take photos so viewers have a sense of the surroundings. I usually take a closeup for transcription, an overview, and photos giving a view from all four corners, unless the topography and vegetation suggest otherwise. Your effort to reciprocate is appreciated. If you contact me regarding a memorial for the first time, please provide the memorial number or the URL. I am grateful for the opportunity to return the kindness so many volunteer researchers have shown my daughter and me. Lots of love.
