I am Christa Belle Montgomery Gimbel born in Louisville, Ky. In 1940. My third great- grandfather, Shadrick Nichols came to Ky. in 1899. from North Carolina. Married Susannah Bruner and lived on Indian Creek in Hancock, County , Ky. That is my material side.
My father's family came. to Ky. in 1804-05 from Albermarle County, Va. My third great- grandfather was Frances Marian Montomery, third great- grandmother, Mary Smith, his wife. (I have a picture of them on my Ancestry. Com web site and / or I will be glad to email it.) I have been to the cementery where they were buried. The cemetery has not been taken care of, though on a high hill.There are still gravestones scattered. Can give anyone directions to it but it is on private property off Reeves Rd. In Ozark, Adair, Ky.
I care for the Montgomery Cementery in Joppa, Adair County, Ky., financially. We just put a hedge around it last April. And, the Montgomery Crest above a new entry way into it. France's son, Robert and wife Clementine are among those buried in it.
