My husband's heritage is Greek from the Island of Crete; names are Mamalakis, Pantelakis, Kavoulakis, Kourakis Dimitrakakis, and Pentheroudakis etc. My background research over the years includes Irish, Italian, German, English, Spanish and a touch of Dutch!
