My genealogy research began in 2005 with interest in the upcountry of South Carolina and Piedmont regions of both North Carolina and South Carolina. My earliest documented Hayes ancestor was born in the early 1800's "at sea". I have documented my Price and Scruggs ancestors to 1600's Virginia. I hit a deadend with my Phillips ancestors from Union County, South Caroliina when Thomas John Phillips died in Danville, Virginia as a result of Civil War injuries. I have his Civil War records but no record of where he was buried. I was able to secure documentation from the DAR that Gabriel Washburn was a Revolutionary War Patriot and was the first of his descendants to become a member under his service. My Williams ancestors I believe were allied with the British and am working to document that.
I've visited lots of cemeteries and photographed ancestors gravesites. I'm looking forward to helping track down other's requests for photos of buriel sites near my home.
