My dad's family was part of the Welsh Quaker migration to Pennsylvania in the mid 1600's from Wales. In the 1700's my family was a part of the Quaker settlement at Snow Camp, North Carolina. Many of these Friends were from the original Quaker colony in Pennsylvania. In 1815, my GGGGG grandfather John, with other Quakers, left North Carolina and took their families in covered wagons to Indiana. These Quakers established Meetings in Paoli and then Bloomingdale. They were heavily involved in the Underground Railroad. The family kicked around Indiana, Illinois, Kansas and then Texas where my grandfather and his four brothers opened a steel business and fabrication shop in Odessa, Texas after WW2.

My mom's family hailed from Iowa. My GG grandfather John L Kinney was an officer in the 50th Colored Infantry in the Civil War. He stormed the works at Fort Blakely/Mobile, Alabama side by side with former slaves in April 1865. I live in Dallas Texas with my wife and two boys.
