Bio

Our family originally came to America in the late 1600's, French Huguenots fleeing persecution. Their name was Martin Hardewyn/Hardouin. He married Madelyn Du Sauchoy (also a Huguenot family) in the Dutch Reformed Church in New Amsterdam (new York) recorded in 1671 and all their children's names were americanized to "hardin on birth. The Hardin's are spread through out the US, mostly in the southeast and Texas. We all stem from few. The du sauchoy's often spelled disoway/dussaway were actually in America even earlier approx. 1651. My grandparents and parents were farmers in Hastings, fl. after leaving Washington, Ga, before 1930. Many seem to have passed away prematurely from various cancers, probably from toxic exposures of pesticides used in those years. Lynne Hardin
