My files on the Vigo County Poor Farm Cemetery are a complete list (the most complete list) of graves located there which needs to stay together. I searched the VCPF files at the Vigo County Public Library and all death records at the Annex. I also searched funeral parlor files and more. We concluded this to be the most complete list available to be found.

My research was completed for the DNR (Department of Natural Resources) DHPA (Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology) while I was an Intern there. They requested I complete the list and attach it to the "Find a Grave" site. This research was completed by the DNR due to the accidental grave dig during the summer of 2011 at the Vigo County Fire Departments Training Facility. The need to have proof of existing graves and number of graves was necessary. No one can identify a complete number with todays tools or research available more complete than what is listed under my listing. I feel more graves exist, however I could find no further documentation of more graves in Vigo County other than what I listed.

The list provided by the team "Six Dog team" is incomplete. I used the same list this team did. I discovered the list in the library archives and the local Terre Haute, IN. Tribune Star wrote an article about my findings. When the team read the article they looked at my findings of 49 names at the library to compound their list before my research was completed. My further weeks of research uncovered several more graves names.

I uploaded all the information the site would allow. If there is a duplicate the reason would be that there are two diverse entries of some sort due to information found in two different places of research. I feel this would be necessary in case a family member wishes to research they should be allowed all information I discovered to come to their own conclusion. I also feel all the VCPF information needs to remain together for future researchers.
