Bio
My interest is in the families of my ancestors. The family's names of my Grandparents would be:
Berg – Swedish - from the Villstad and Reftele Parishes in Jonkoping County – also the Steinge Parish, Hallands County. Their first stop was Ludington Michigan – later Wisconsin, Minnesota, Utah, Idaho, and New Jersey.
Olson – Swedish – from Arby Parish, Kalmar, Sweden. The family came to Minnesota in about 1883 and Minnesota would still catch a large part of the family.
Larson – Norwegian – The most recent movement was from the Tokle Farm, Grytten Hen Parish, More og Romsdal County, Norway. Much of the ancestry of the family however comes from the Ullensvang parish, Hordaland County, Norway. Most of them made their first stop Sac County, Iowa – a few of them went to Poweshiek County by Grinnell, Iowa. Many of them are still in the Midwest – Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Nebraska. Many remained in Norway still on the Tokle farm or close to Isfjorden.
Hanson-Hansen – Norwegian – The family came from Sekken Island, Veo Parish, More og Romsdal. Four siblings came to Sac County Iowa around 1900. Later one family was in Cedar County Nebraska, one family in Brookings County, South Dakota and two families in the Sioux City area. The other five siblings remained in Norway, some still close to Sekken Island.
