Bio

I was born July 28, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas. I am the son of Charles Aubrey and Mildred Palmer (Inmon) Bolton. I attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in voice in 1968. I attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where I received the Master of Music and Doctor of Philosophy in musicology with a voice/vocal literature minor. From 1973 to 1989 I was a professor of music at Ouachita. From 1989 to 1996 I was minister of music at Little Rock's First Baptist Church. In 1996 I went to teach at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where I served as Dean of the School of Church Music and Worship from 2000 to 2009. I retired to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 2012.
