I've been fascinated with genealogy since the day my mother pulled our family tree out of our hall closet and I saw our pedigree chart. My mother was dabbling in it as a result of her mother-in-law who had been aggressively researching my paternal ancestry for decades. For me the interest has always been strong, just going through motherhood and too busy with work and family to devote time to it as I would have liked. A solo trip to a genealogy conference in Fort Lauderdale in 2016 changed all that. Seeing all of the professionals, attending several workshops, learning about DNA was amazing, not to mention the eye opening realization that I'd been doing it ALL WRONG. Now that things have settled down in my life some, I'm finding a little more time to devote to things I enjoy, genealogy and historical research is becoming my passion.
