Bio

I was born and raised north of Dayton, Ohio in Vandalia, Ohio. I am a Vandalia Butler High School and an Ohio State University alumni. I am an avid Ohio State football fan and bleed scarlet and gray. I am married with 2 kids and moved from Indianapolis, Indiana to Piqua, Ohio in July 2021 after spending 25 years in Indianapolis.

I have been doing genealogy since 1996 and have found this site very helpful. My father and I always said we should do genealogy as a father son thing some day. He died at age 49 and we never got around to it. A few years after his death I began researching my family history as well as my wife's in honor of his desire. It has become a lifetime of work for me.

Most of my family is from the Miami County, Ohio (Covington, Bradford Piqua and Tipp City) and Shelby County, Ohio. I also have a lot of distant relatives in Champaign County, Logan County, Auglaize County, Allen County Clark County and Montgomery County, Ohio.

Wy Wife's family is mostly form Hancock and Wyandot county Ohio with some addition family from Henry and Wood County Ohio.

Memorial Transfers and updates:

If there is a memorial I manage that you wish to have transferred to you, please submit a request with the suggest edits/transfer memorial buttons. Email requests for edits and transfers will be disregarded.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will transfer memorials with the following parameters:

1. If the individual is a relative of mine, i.e., parent grandparent great-grandparent, aunts, uncles of other related close and or distant cousins, I will most likely not transfer the memorial.

2. I will transfer memorials of individuals you are related to. Please provide your relationship to the individual in the transfer request. No relationship, no transfer.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edits:

1. All edits must be requested via the suggest edits button. All other will be disregarded.

2. Please do not submit a Bio with information that does not pertain directly to the individual of the memorial. It will be declined or edited. For example, do not submit a Bio with information about the parents birth, death and marriage dates . Suggest a link to the parent which will link their info to the individual. I will approve Bios with parents names only if there is not a memorial that can be found on Find-A-Grave, otherwise, ad the parents memorial IDs in the proper field.

What I have been working on:

In September 2022, I began researching every burial in Highland Cemetery in Covington, Ohio. I am a direct descendent of Michael ingle, the first permanent Settler in the area. As a result I have many close and a whole lot of distant relatives buried in the cemetery. As I complete a memorial, I have been submitting suggestions to contributors to update each memorial to the best of my knowledge. If I have made a mistake, please let me know so I can update my records as well. I want the memorials to include as much information as possible out of respect for the lives of those who are buried in the cemetery. I also hope my research efforts will help others find their loved ones.

Aug 2023 update - I have completed researching about 65% of Highland cemetery as of Aug 21, 2023. Some people have proven difficult to find and will require a deeper dive once I finished the entire cemetery. A trip to the Miami County Health Department will help with some of them. Others will be more difficult to track down and some may never be completely figured out.

November 2023 update: I am about 75% of the way through the Highland Cemetery research. I have people with last names beginning with letters M, O, P, Q, R and S to go.

December 26th 2023 update - I have almost completed researching 80% of the burials in Highland Cemetery, Covington. I am about half way through the letter R burials with M and S to go.

January 2024 update - Now that Newberry township is responsible for Harris Creek Cemetery, my research has shifted from Highland Cemetery to Harris Creek Cemetery. I will circle back to Highland Cemetery in a few months.

March 2024 update - I am still working on Harris Creek Cemetery burials but am getting ready to switch back to Highland Cemetery to see if I can finish it off.
