Bio

I have been researching my family since I was 12 years old. I was curious about a list of names and birthdays found in an old ledger in the bottom of an antique chest owned by my grandmother.

The last few years I have been walking graveyards trying to document and find my ancestors (much to the chagrin of my young daughter!). I always try to imagine which of my relatives stood in the same spot during and after the funeral mourning their loved ones; this is probably the closest I will ever come to connecting with them. I also enjoy the inscriptions and unique artwork on the monuments, looking for the symbolism and meaning behind them.

I hate to see fading and damaged monuments and stones, so often I will snap a picture of them, even if I am not related to that individual. Once, such a picture turned out to be a long lost cousin of mine --- that tombstone is no longer present at that cemetery, and the photo was my only documentation of a birth date for him.

I am now in the process of posting all these photos to this website. Check back often, since this will be a work in progress. I hope my contribution may help you in your own research.
