Bio

From my youth, I was always interested in Genealogy after hearing my aunts, uncles and Grandparents tell of their early lives in the Old Indian Territory/Oklahoma. Even though I was born in Hayward, CA, and move back twice to OK and TX in my youth, those stories always intrigued me so I had to go back in time to research and document them.

What a wonderful journey it has been. I found my heritage at the converging point, in the Indian Territory, where all my ancestors came to from MO, TN, SC, NC and VA. Most were just plain ole dirt farmers who were very valuable to the country's progress and growth but there were a few famous ancestors, as well, in the Gore, Williams, Hunter, Bowles and Bollings Lines; making me related to two Presidents, a Vice President, two Indian Chiefs, a Medicine Woman and the most famous Indian Princess of all. They stepped of the pages of history to tell me the story of their lives, helping me know who they were as well as who I was.

I continue to stay active but I am now in the writing phase of genealogy. I wrote "His Name Was Gus - the Augustos Wiler/Fickweiler Family". This is my maternal Great Grandfather who came from Germany and after 30 years I finally found a record for his arrival into the NY Harbor. I have just completed a rough copy of "Pocahontas and the Ambrose Williams Connection" to be published soon. This covers my paternal Williams Family back to the early cononies.

So in answer to "B" - I am very active in genealogy but haven't had a lot of time lately for FAG although I still try to keep up with messages.
