My parents, George P. Speer Jr. & Ina G. Hopkins, started this Speer research in the 1950's. After Dad's passing, I took over in 1994. I'm the 7 child of 8; 4 boys & 4 girls. Married with 4 children and live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I've studied our Family History and have compiled a lot of research on the Speer/Speares family.

I'm the administrator of the Speer/Spear Family DNA Surname Project at www.FamilyTreeDNA.com and have documented that we Spear's belong to the Haplo-group I-M223
