Employed 1974-1994 at Denver (CO) Public Library as a Bibliographic Controller, I was anxious to research my ancestry in the library's excellent Genealogy Dept. However, my efforts began long after my retirement with a Genealogy Class at Clements Community Center in Lakewood, CO. My online searching began in 2005. My traveling is limited, and I've made only a few trips to ancestral lands with insufficient research beforehand. My surnames include MCCRACKEN, CHICHESTER, MATHEWS, FLOWERS, COLEMAN, URIE, PEA, PEARCE, BALDRIDGE, INGRAM, RATLIFF, WASHINGTON, MERRITT, CUMMING(S), FOX, WOOD. Other than genealogy, my primary activity is square dancing. I learned to dance in 1957 when I married square dance caller Norman Chichester in Colorado Springs, CO.
