I am a genealogy nut. I have been doing research since, 1984 into the Lyon, Maples, Ivy, King, Hosford, Risley, Grant, Comstock, Long, Chaney, Minor, Bratton (Philadelphia), Strunk, Noblett, and Ledbetter families. I am the 5th great granddaugher of Col. Matthew Lyon from Ireland. He served in the Green Mountain Boys, American Revolution and the U.S. Congress. He became famous for spitting in the face of Congressman Griswald and jailed under John Adams Administrations, "Alien and Sedtion Act 1798". When he was released from jail he headed to Philadelphia in which he made the deciding vote on behalf of Thomas Jefferson who by the way John Adams lost.(revenge is sweet)I am proud to be his descendent. He was passionate, forthright and truthful. His tenacity will astound you. He truly was an inspiring American.
