Bio

My love of reading, history, and archiving have brought me to this amazing love of researching ancestors. The "unbelievable stories" that my grandparents told me as a child, were actually true.

My grandfather told me about the time he walked from Maxie to Crowley, then I found it in the Crowley newspaper...."Mr. Harold Laughlin walked to Crowley one day last week." The Crowley Signal, Crowley, Louisiana 09 Dec 1905, Sat • Page 6.

He often talked about how his uncle was "assassinated" at the Long Point "Maxie" Bridge in 1887. In 2011, many years after my Pawpaw died, I found the article in the Rayne newspaper.

Since 1998, genealogy has brought me so much joy, especially when I'm able to help others find their families.
