My name is Sheila Rawlins and I was born in Eastman, Dodge County, GA. I was raised in McRae, Telfair County, GA since I was 5 years old.
All my ancestors I'm researching came to GA either from NC, SC & VA before first settling in Wilkinson, Pulaski and Dodge County, GA. Part of Pulaski County became Dodge County, GA in 1870, therefore, those who were in Pulaski County, then became residents of Dodge County.
The families I'm searching: HARRELL, RAWLINS PARKERSON, PEACOCK, GIDDENS, HORNE, PRUETT, COLEMAN, BUTLER, GRIMSLEY, MERCER, BREWER and more were part of a community which is still called Plainfield, GA. Many of the families married into each others' families to the point some of us are double cousins.
