Sherry Lynn Goike, 52, of Ray Township died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012.

Sherry was born on May 17, 1960, in Detroit, the daughter of Bob and Judy (Kenyon) Cooper. On Aug. 25, 2007, she married Kenneth F. Goike at St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens.

Mrs. Goike worked as an engineering assistant for Trans Nav in New Baltimore for many years. Sherry was a diehard Detroit Red Wings fan. She loved dogs, especially her own, Jack, Jill, and Snoopy. Sherry collected eagles and enjoyed crafts, games and puzzles. She enjoyed giving back to her community and volunteered her time at the Armada Fair – Derby and Figure Eight Registration. Sherry had a great sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Sherry was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, State Representative Kenneth F. Goike; five children, Joe (Natasha) Morton of Shelby Township, Melissa (Ray Gilson) Morton of Macomb Township, Janel M. Goike-Lyons of Columbus, Renee (Steve) Nikkel of Riley and Kenny (Stephanie) Goike of Armada; her parents, Bob and Judy Cooper of Lakeland, Fla.; four siblings, Rose (Mike) Bachan of Troy, Robert (Connie) Cooper of Dryden, Tracy Tait of North Branch and Renee (Greg Ficht) Hunter of Macomb Township; and nine grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Elton and Betty Kenyon and Lloyd and Nora Cooper.

Services were held Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at St. Francis-St. Maximilian Catholic Church, Ray Township. The Rev. Fr. Chris Talbot officiated. Arrangements were by Hauss Funeral Home in Macomb.
