James Daussey Reaves, 79, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Kingswood Nursing Center, in Aberdeen.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Bethesda Cemetery, in Aberdeen. A visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Boles Funeral Home, in Pinehurst.
He was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Horry County, S.C., to the late Daniel K. Reaves and Caroline Gore Reaves. He was the owner and operator of Reaves Nursery, in Aberdeen, and was a member of the Bible Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Davis Reaves; a brother, Joseph Rudolph Reaves, of Georgetown, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Frances Reaves, of Rock Ledge, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Loyd Reaves.
