EARLY SETTLER BURIED AT STRONG CITY
One of the early settlers of Roger Mills county died last Monday October 30, 1933 in a son's home at Blanchard and was buried in the Strong City cemetery beside his wife.
Mr. William H. Kilby was an old settler of the Sandstone community and for a long time ran a store in that part of the country. About eight years ago he sold the farm and they moved to Strong City where they lived until the death of Mrs. Kilby. Following the death of his wife Mr. Kilby moved to Blanchard where he spent the remainder of his life with his son, H.T. Kilby. At the time of his death Mr. Kilby was near his 84th milestone, having been born January 6, 1850.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Strong City, conducted by Rev. W.R. Trent of Hammon, who was assisted by Rev. S.S. Elliott of Strong City.
Many old time friends gathered at the church and cemetery to pay their last respects to the old timer.
