Mr. Daniel Morgan Scronce passed away Thursday, April 26. 2007 at the age of eighty-two.His funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at Bethphage Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton.He was born October 13, 1924 to the late Vernie Leonard Scronce and Frank Scronce in Lincoln County and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Jack and Hal Scronce all of Lincolnton. Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He attended Union School. As a young adult, Dan played an active role in caring for his younger siblings after his father's fatal accident. He served in Germany during World War II. In June 1953, he married his wife Mozelle Sigmon. He was a charter member of the Lincoln County Rescue Squad where he volunteered his time to help others in need. He was owner and operator of Scronce's Grill. After closing Scronce's Grill, he started his landscaping business where he worked in the Lincoln County area. He enjoyed farming in his spare time and farmed well into his retirement. He was man of strong faith and a lifelong member of Bethphage Lutheran Church.

Dan is survived by his wife Mozelle Sigmon; a daughter, Robin Scronce Helms and son-in-law Glenn Helms; a son, Wayne Anthony; a granddaughter, Kendra Helms, all of Lincolnton; four brothers, Ben Scronce of Lincolnton, Bob Scronce of Crouse, Bill Scronce of Asheville and Lwster Scronce of Granite Falls; two sisters, Betty Jain Sain and Elizabeth Hoover both of Vale, and a number of nieces and nephews
