Sister Britta McCourt, age 96, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev. Samuel D. Jadin O.Praem. will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Helen McCourt was born November 8, 1901, in Maple Grove, daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Peppard McCourt. She entered the Convent in 1923 and professed her vows in 1926. Sister Britta served as a primary grade teacher at St. Joseph, Rice Lake; St. Ann, Escanaba and as a homemaker at St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. James, Cooperstown; St. Joseph, Kellnersville; St. Mary, Clarks Mills; St. Mary, Brillion; St. Rose, Clintonville; Sacred Heart, Sherwood; St. Augustine, Chilton; Sacred Heart, Ayrshire, Iowa. In 1967, she retired to Ozanam Home, New Berlin, and has been residing in St. Rita Health Facilities at the Motherhouse since 1974. She was a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two sisters, Rose Kuplic and Emma Kriescher, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
