Danny had lived most of his life in the Greater Lafayette area, graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
Danny's marriage was to Sandra "Sandy" Schrader on December 2, 1995, in Lafayette and she survives. He retired after 25 years as a chemical operator at the Lafayette Labs of Eli Lilly.
Danny was a member of the Marine Corps League, American Legion Post 11, the Navy Club, and the 40 et 8 Voiture.
He enjoyed playing golf, dancing, going to auctions and flea markets.
Surviving with his wife, Sandy, is one son, Brooke (Nirvana) Grant and one daughter, Desiree (Mark) Palmer, both of Lafayette; one step-son, Wally J. Aldridge, of Lafayette; three step-daughters, Lori Aldridge, of Lafayette, Missy (Dan) Uhl, of Independence, Ky. and Tracy (Jim) Spalding, of Romney; one sister, Sue McGlothlin, of West Lafayette; three brothers, Jack (Kay) Grant, of Anderson, Tom (Vicki) Grant, of Lafayette and Gary Grant, of Illinois; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ted Grant.
Visitation 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday with the service beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Simplicity Funeral Care; Pastor Mike Vauters officiating. Burial to follow with military honors at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
