Branson S. Freeman was born November 1837 in Montgomery County, North Carolina. He married Elizabeth E. Brewer in July 5 1859 in Randolph county. Elizabeth's parentage and birthplace are to date unknown. Together, the couple produced 4 children including my great-grandmother, Rose Anna Freeman; Martha, Joel and James. In 1862, Branson volunteered as a soldier in the Confederate Army and was discharged in 1863. He returned home to Lewisville, Forsyth County to his family and they lived there until sometime after Elizabeth died in 1893. it is unclear as to where Branson lived after his children grew up and his wife died. He is my 2nd great-grand father (paternal) and I do want to know where his resting place is. He fought for his beliefs and was a farmer and family man. I am proud to be his great-grand daughter.
