Mrs. Harold Eernisse, 63, 534 Center Ave., Oostburg, was dead on arrival Sunday morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. She had been taken there by the Oostburg Rescue Squad.
The former Gladys Claerbout was born Aug. 5, 1913, in the Town of Holland, a daughter of Isaac and Grace Neerhof Claerbout.
June 4, 1936 she married Mr. Eernisse in Oostburg. The couple lived in Oostburg their entire married life.
Mrs. Eernisse was a charter member of the Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Oostburg, and it’s Rebecca Society. She also was a member of the Christian School Circle and had served as its president.
She taught Sunday school or several years and was a member of the Faithful Gleaners for many years and had served as their leader.
Mrs. Eernisse is survived by her husband; a son, Ivan, Oostburg; two grandsons, and two brothers, Erwin, Cedar Grove, and Delmar, R.1, Oostburg.
Two infant granddaughters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church, preceded by a 1:15 p.m. family service in the fellowship hall of the church.
The Rev. Donald Stanton, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Oostburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Krostag Funeral Home, Oostburg, from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and at the church from noon until the time of the service.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Eernisse’s name for the World Home Bible League.
