Willard Alvin Mayes, 68, of McKenney, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012. He was the son of the late Lloyd Alvin and Margaret Harrison Mayes. He retired after 35 years of services from the Hercules Corporation. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Gwynn Mayes; daughter, Anne Mayes Kuhfuss and husband, Timothy, of North Chesterfield; grandson, Logan Alvin Kuhfuss of North Chesterfield; sisters, Florence Belle Mayes Harding and husband, Randolph Wayne of Mechanicsville, M. Idella Dishner of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Dianne M Wright of Jarratt; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 in Asbury United Methodist Church, 1502 Doyle Boulevard, McKenney, Virginia 23872 with the Reverend Dr. Karen Workman officiating. Interment to follow in Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery McKenney, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church or Paralyzed Veterans of America 4801 E Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64128-2226
