A prominent Sheboygan industrialist, Delmar W. Huenink, 2119 N. 6th St., died today at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. Mr. Huenink, 60, first vice president of Garton Toy Co., had been hospitalized the past four days. He is the second high official of the pioneer Sheboygan firm to die this year. Peter Ries, another Garton Toy vice president, died last May. Mr. Huenink, who joined the company in 1935, had held key posts since 1937, when he was appointed plant manager. He became treasurer in 1942, was promoted to vice president in charge of production in 1951 and assumed the title of first vice president two years ago. Born in Sheboygan on July 6, 1912, he was a son of the late Dirk W. and Elizabeth Huenink. He attended Grant School and was a 1929 graduate of Sheboygan High School. He also attended the University of Wisconsin. On June 25, 1934, he married Miss Julia E. Garton of Sheboygan at Grace Episcopal Church. She died Sept. 23, 1967. Mr. Huenink was a member and former vestryman of Grace Church, Sheboygan Elks Lodge, Pine Hills Country Club and formerly was active in Red Cross and Community Fund campaigns here. Surviving are one son, Dirk W Sheboygan; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Jane) Loo, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. John (Julia) Baer, Saginaw, Mich., and Miss Ann Huenink of Lake Forest, Ill; seven grandchildren and a brother, Howard, Sheboygan. Funeral arrangements are pending. Particulars will be announced Friday by Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. A memorial fund in Mr. Huenink's name has been established for Grace Episcopal Church.
