Mrs. Florence (Smyers) Wilson, 63, of 43 West Milford Street, Mount Union, died at 5:25 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 1976, in the William Penn Nursing Center, Derry Township, Mifflin County. She had been in failing health for the past year.
A native of Rockhill Furnace, she was born April 18, 1893 to Willis and Katherine (Heater) Smyers. She married Ralph W. Wilson of Mount Union on November 22, 1953. at the Washington Square Methodist Church, Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving are her husband and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church and its Dependables Sunday School Class.
After many years of service, she retired as an operator of the Orbisonia exchange of the Saltillo Telephone Company.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, from the Robert D. Heath funeral home, Mount Union. The Rev. David B. Reams will officiate and burial will be made in the Mount Union IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 this Monday evening and from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service.
