Washington was the son of Hubbard and Charlotte [Barnes] Beckwith. He married Mary A. Wright Jan. 28, 1851 in Chenango County, New York [prob. town of German or McDonough].

Children of Washington and Mary:
[1] Francis "Frank" W. Beckwith, he is buried at Steele City Cemetery in Steele City, Jefferson Co., Nebraska with his wife Francois A. "Elderette", her maiden name is unknown. [2] Emagene "Emma" G. Beckwith, she married Fred J. Pike. [3] Fredrick "Fred" D. Beckwith, he married Ella A. Morse.

After the death of Mary, Washington married Eveline O. Greene Dec. 1862 in Chenango County, New York [prob. town of McDonough].

Children of Washington and Eveline:
[4] Delphinia "Della" Beckwith. [5] Bertie C. Beckwith. [6] Clarence E. Beckwith, he married Grace Gates. [7]Arthur "Artie" S. Beckwith, he married Mary Ida "Ida" White.
