Born on November 27, 1950, in Black Mountain, NC, son of Harrison and Pauline L. MacDonald White, he graduated in 1969 from Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain, NC.
Following school he entered the US Army in 1970 and served in Germany & Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1972.
Mr. White then worked construction in FL, NC, Louisiana and NY before going to work as a civil service employee at Fort Drum in 1986. He worked as a warehouse fork lift operator in ammo supply and he retired in 2009. He has been in failing health the past two years.
He married Wanda J. Snyder of Potsdam in 1980 at the home of his parents in Black Mountain, NC. The marriage ended in divorce in 1992.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing guitar, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Among his survivors are his companion of many years, Cindy Thomson, Black River; a daughter and her companion, Victoria J. White and Kenneth W. Fields, Black River; three sons, James W. White, John W. White, Travis L. White, all of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren, Nicole J. Stroud, Black River, William W. Fields, Black River, Hunter J. White, Watertown, Joseph M. White, DeFeriet; a sister, Edna E. Fields, and a brother David White both of Black Mountain, NC; and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers.
