Born May 4, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Anthony and Santa Tindiglia Barone.
Mr. Barone came to West Virginia at an early age with his parents settling in Stanaford. He was a 1931 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
He was formerly employed by Raleigh Baking Co. with 15 years of service. He retired from Beckley Post Office, after 31 years. His last position was postal clerk.
Mr. Barone was a devout member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and had been a resident of MacTaggart Drive since 1968, coming from City Avenue.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Barone.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Anna DiCiuccio Barone; a son, Anthony A. Barone and his wife, Carol, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three grandchildren, Matthew F. Barone of Palo Alto, Calif., Rachel Ann Barone of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jill Fugit and her husband, Capt. James Fugit of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Helen Shrodo Barone of Beckley; a brother-in-law, Tony DiCiuccio and his wife, JoAnn Culicerto, of Roseville, Mich.
Funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Samuel Sacus as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Melton Mortuary, Beckley, where a rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends of the family.
