Peter P. Abel, 52, of 65 Teaberry Circle, Lehighton, died Sunday, May 30, at home. He was the husband of Brenda J. (Sherman) Abel. They were married for 25 years in March.
He was employed by Rapid Package Services for the past month and previously worked in maintenance of the Palmerton Area School District.
Born in Abington, Montgomery County, he was a son of August Sr. and Eloise (Hill) Abel of Lehighton.
He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton.
He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Survivors: Wife and parents; son, Matthew, with the Air Force in Korea; daughters, Marcie Lynne of East Stroudsburg, and Mallory Jean, at home; brothers, August Jr. of Middletown, N.J., and Robert of Lehighton, and two grandchildren.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, 4th and Iron streets, Lehighton; Mass at 10 a.m. in the church. Call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
