Rick was the son of Rosemary (Burn) and the late Warren Schneeweis.
His career in the Chicopee Fire Department started in 1979 as a firefighter, he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1987, Captain in 1991, and as a Deputy Chief in 1996. Rick was Chicopee Fire Department's -B Group' Commander. He was team Coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, District 4 Hazardous Materials Response Team. Member of the National Fire Protection Assoc., International Assoc. of Firefighters, Chicopee Fire Assoc. and was past secretary and treasurer of the Chicopee Fire Department Social Club.
Rick also served on the Board of Directors for the Chicopee Municipal Employee Credit Union.
