Travis Jeanette Phillips Mixon, 89, widow of Harry Mendel L. Mixon, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late W.C. Sr. and Essie Bell Player Phillips. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and formerly a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She worked at Pioneer Manufacturing for many years and retired from the Sumter County Clerk of Court's Office. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry "Cissy" Mixon; a grandson, Wayne Ardis; and a brother, W.C. "Son" Phillips Jr.
