Wayne Edward Casey, age 65, of Smyrna, DE, formerly of Hockessin, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 17, 2012. Mr. Casey loved family gatherings and the special times with his grandchildren. He retired from DP&L after 30 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and was a huge sports fan. He was a #1 Phillies fan and would attend spring training. He also cheered on the Eagles and followed NASCAR.

Mr. Casey is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Kleiss) Casey; daughters: Pamela Gaucher, Tina Casey, and Christie Minner and husband John; son, Michael Derby and wife Brenda; brother, Henry Casey and wife Helen; sister, Linda Collins; and grandchildren: Bryanne, Wyatt and Alyana; mother-in-law, Gladys Kleiss; and loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Casey; brother, George Casey; and brother-in-law, John Collins.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 20, in Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 6-8 pm and again on Friday, September 21 from 10-11 am followed by a service in celebration of Wayne's life at 11 am. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association ., 100 W. 10th Street, Ste. 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
