Isaac Henry Clary aka: Ike was born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. The son of Oscar Songer Clary aka: Okla and Elizabeth Jane Loy Clary aka Bessie. In his younger years they lived in South Choctaw, Lincoln County, Oklahoma and his WWI draft card dated 12 Sep 1918 he was living in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma and was a farmer. By 16 Apr 1940 he was living in Downey, Los Angeles County, California. He married Bertha Gladys Benefiel on 3 Jan 1921 and they had 13 children of which 9 survived. By the 1970's they were living in Santa Cruz County, California. He and grandma were visiting their daughter when he became ill, his right leg was amputated and he suffered pulmunary failure. I have such fond memories of my grandparents and on their 50th wedding anniversary he hitched a team of horses to their covered wagon and he took his grandchildren on a journey through the hills on property owned by his daughter and her husband. The stories were those you will never forget.
