Again we have to record the death of another old land mark in the person of G.W. Vanhoose, better known as Uncle George. He was 77 years old and came to this country when only seven years of age. He was a member of the Pesbyterian church. He had been sick for several months of a complication of diseases and died Wednesday evening about 8 o'clock. Uncle George had a remarkable memory and many are the tales of war and hardships which he has related. He was an old time writer of the Fayetteville Review, also of the Fort Smith Elevator, and many who read this will remember his writings. He leaves a wife, two sons, one daughter, one grandson and one brother and sister to mourn for him. He was buried Thursday afternoon in the King graveyard amidst a large crowd of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stockburger of Fayetteville and D.L. Hood of Elkins.
