BARNETT RITES AT VALLEY GROVE
Mrs. Jewel Bane Barnett, 56-year-old wife of A.D. Barnett, Andalusia, RFD 2, died at a local hospital Friday, Oct. 16 at 5:36 0'clock in the afternoon.
Mrs. Barnett had been a resident of the Mt. Gilead area all her life span and had reared her family there. She was a person it was a privilege to know and had scores of friends.
The body lay in state at her home until 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Oct. 18, when funeral services were held from Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church and burial was in Valley Grove cemetery with Audrey Floyd, J. Dauphin,, W.H. Bryant, W.J. Barnett and Marlin Dauphin serving as pallbearers.
Surviving are the husband, A.D. Barnett, RFD 2, Andalusia; daughters, Mrs. Tiny McDaniel, RFD 3, Opp; Mrs. Floyce Mack, Doraville, Ga. and Mrs. Gladys Dauphin, Andalusia, and Mansford and Marlin Barnett, both of Doraville, Ga.; brothers, Hollis Bane, Mobile, and Clarence Bane, Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Grady Chandler, Selma; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
