Danny Joe Griggs Sr., 59, Kokomo, died at 12:29 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at home.Danny was born to David and Agnes (Howard) Griggs on Nov. 28, 1950 in Peru.
On April 23, 1977, at Salem Christian Church, he married Vicki L. Haworth. He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years retiring in 1991. He was also employed with Chrysler.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and a brave soldier.
He is survived by wife, Vicki L Griggs; son, Danny Jr. and wife Misty; daughter, Amber Griggs, Kokomo; grandchildren, Kaly and Delaney Griggs, Kaiden Hendrickson;
mother, Agnes Griggs, Amboy; brother, David, and wife, Debbie Griggs Jr., Amboy, Donald and wife, Chris Griggs, New Castle; sisters, Floss and husband Mike Cantrell,
Suzie and husband Don Rossman, Amboy, and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main Street. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the same location. Burial to follow at Bond Cemetery,
Amboy, where full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the U.S. Navy and the Kokomo Military Rites Team.
