Virginia Beach - Patrick Joseph Sullivan, 53, of Virginia Beach, died peacefully, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in a local hospital. He was the son of Barbara Anne Bullock Sullivan and the late Joseph Carl Sullivan and was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Sullivan Leonard.
Pat graduated from St. Pius X. Catholic School, attended Norfolk Catholic High School and graduated from Cox High School. He graduated from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Apprenticeship School and later retired as a Nuclear Shipfitter after 30 years employment with the shipyard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rhoni Knieling Sullivan and their daughter, Nicole Sullivan and his mother all of Virginia Beach, his brother Samuel Walter Sullivan and his wife Margot of Escondido, California. He is also survived by his uncle Edward "Gussy" Bullock and his wife Peggy of Kingsland, Texas, his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Knieling and his wife Jennifer of Savannah, Georgia, his nieces, Brittany Knieling of Savannah, Georgia and Amanda Rose Leonard of Chesapeake and his nephew Christopher Michael Leonard and great nephew Christopher Michael Leonard, Jr., both of Norfolk and many loving cousins and friends. Pat was a gentle soul who will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held in the Laskin Road chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Tuesday, May 29 at 1 p.m. with interment in Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church Cemetery.
