He was born in Kingston, Pa. to the late Claude and late Mary (McLaughlin) Mangold.
He worked for U.S. Steel for almost 30 years before his retirement.
He was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan and Penn State fan. He enjoyed traveling to State College for football games and Clearwater, Fla., for Phillies Spring Training. He especially loved spending time with family and friends at his beach house in Sea Isle City, N.J.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Schools) Mangold; loving father of Scott Mangold (Anita) of Levittown, and Sandra Marinelli (the late Angelo) of New Port Richey, Fla. He also was the doting and loving grandfather of Gavin Mangold. He was the devoted owner of his beloved Golden Retriever, Nittany. He was the loving brother of Mary Ellen Ney of Croydon, Cheryl McDermott of Bordentown, N.J., and Christopher Mangold of Levittown. He is survived by many loving family members, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 9172 New Falls Road, Fallsington, PA where friends will be received until the time of the Mass. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Penndel, PA following the Mass. James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Penndel, PA. following the Mass.
