Margie Virginia Perry Pusser, 95, of Chesterfield, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21 from Chesterfield Baptist Church. Burial followed in Chesterfield Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Chesterfield Baptist Church Building Fund, 207 E. Main St., Chesterfield, S.C. 29709, the Chesterfield Cemetery Fund, or to a charity of one's choice.
Born March 22, 1908, Mrs. Pusser was a daughter of the late Thomas William and Gertrude Helms Perry. She grew up in Union County, attended Wingate College and later lived in Pageland. She was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was a member of the WMU. She served her community as probate judge, executive secretary for the Tuberculosis Association and as an administrator for the Office of Economic Opportunity until her retirement at age 67.
Surviving are a son, Rance E. (Joan) Pusser of Savannah, Ga.; two daughters, Nancy P. (Ned) Burgess of Charlotte, N.C., and Ellen P. (Tony) Carmignani of Hinsdale, Ill.; two sisters, Johnnie P. Nestlehutt of Kannapolis, N.C., and Martha P. Nesbit of Marion, N.C.; a brother, Joseph "Joe" Perry of Reidsville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wilson Pusser Jr., and ae son, William Henry Pusser.
