Joan M. Romanek, 69, of Prescott died October 19, 1995 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Romanek was born June 13, 1926, in Rochester, N.Y. to Waldo and Ruth DeMers. She moved to Phoenix from Oak Creek , Wisc., in 1959 and to Prescott in 1978.
She loved to write poetry and was very good at it. When she was not writing or caring for her family, she could be found in the kitchen where she loved to create new and delicious meals for the family.
Mrs. Romanek is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edward P.; sons, Steve J. of Prescott, and Paul E. and Thomas G. , both of Phoenix; sister Marchi Struckman of Phoenix and grandchildren, Paul Jr., Michelle, Raquel, Ray, T.J., Michael, Molly, and Donnie.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m Sunday, October 22, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin funeral Home, Cortez Street at Carleton Street.
A Christian burial service in celebration of Mrs. Romanek's life will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 23, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred LeClaire, C.M.F., officiating.
Concluding services will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
The family was assisted with arrangements by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
