Elsbeth came over from Germany, with her sister and mother to join her father, who had preceded them. He set up a shoe making and repair store in South Bend IN. Later Clara Hintz, Henry Saengers sister, and a "match maker", learned of a young shoe maker in southern Indiana. In 1895 Elsbeth Saenger and Henry William Bornemann were married, and moved to Bremen Indiana where Henry started a shoe making and repair store. In 1936 The boarded the SS Bremen and traveled back to the old country where they visited Henry's brother and his 8 children. They lived to celebrate there 70eth wedding anniversary.
