Son of Lois Weaver Denning and the late U.H. "Dick" Denning, he was a partner in Denning and Sessoms Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, he was certified as a financial planner and in business valuation. He was a member of the Clinton Kiwanis Club which he served as president. He was graduate of East Carolina University and was a member of the Pirate Club. He was survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Lindsay Denning; son, Jeremy Denning (wife, Akila Shenoy); daughter, Jenny Denning Edwards (husband, Paul Edwards); granddaughter, Mirabella Claire Edwards; mother, Lois Weaver Denning; brother, Wayne Denning (wife, Kay); and an extended family of relatives and friends. He was a member of Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church where his funeral was held on August 21, 2012, with The Rev. Dwight Dunning officiating.
