Burnsville - Stewart Holcombe, 52, of Holcombe Branch Road, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of Lester J. Holcombe, of Burnsville, and Mallie Ledford Holcombe, who died in 1974. Stewart was owner/operator of Holcombe Automotive. Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife, Brenda Jamerson Holcombe; two sisters, Barbara Robinson and husband. Steve, and Regina Holcombe Arnette, all of Burnsville; nephew, Julian Robinson, and wife, Lynn; special great nephew, Brandon Robinson; and two special great nieces, Julie and Ashley Robinson, all of Concord. The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Shane Cassida will officiate. Graveside services at 11:00 am Sunday at the Cane River Cemetery.
