Mrs. Axie Bargo, 70 of Hinkle, the daughter of the late Mitchell and Mealie Hubbard Messer was born in Clay County, Ky on June 17, 1918 and departed this life in the Pineville Community Hospital on Saturday, May 13, 1989. Mrs. Bargo was a homemaker and a member of the Dripping Springs Baptist Church. On December 28, 1938 she united in marriage to Gabe Bargo and to this union 10 children was born.
3 sons, David, Dallas and Leadis, 1 daughter, Virginia Ann preceded her in death. Mrs. Bargo was also preceded in death by a brother Loyd and a sister Callie.
Survivors include her husband, Gabe of Hinkle, 3 sons, Willard Bargo, Hinkle, Denver Bargo, Girdler and Loyd Bargo, Belleville, Mich,3 daudghters, Ann Bargo, Wilma Smith both of Hinkle, Christine Jones, Belleville, Mich, 3 brothers, Robert Messer, Nasby Messer and Gilbert Messer all of Bright Shade, Ky, 3 sisters, Birthy Mills, Saltgum, Esselene Gambrel, Bright Shade, Ky and Dorothy Smith of Georgia, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mrs. Bargo also leaves a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Dripping Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 16, 1989 at 1pm with Rev. Silas Wayne Mills, Rev. Columbus Hensley, Rev. Chester Bargo, Rev. Floyd Bernard and Rev. Elijah Hammons officiating. Burial will be in the Callebs Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eugene Messer, Leamond Messer, Nasby Mills, Joe Montgomery, I.V. Smith and Melvin Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews of Mrs. Bargo and all friends and neighbors of the Bargo family. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
